SOME OF OUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS
IN 1997
As we so often remind you, we at Temenos are beggars-we
depend on the good heartedness of others to maintain our ministry.
The fruits of your generosity in 1997 have been some form of service to
approximately 4500 individuals: 46,000 sandwiches, 10,000 hot meals, 70,000
needles and other harm reduction supplies, 80,000 condoms, 50 bus tickets
home, 1,000 blankets, 2,000 pairs of socks, approximately a tom of clothes,
452 food baskets, and 3500 referrals to agencies.
Pastoral care has included Fr. Sims hearing approximately
650 confessions, making 550 jail visits, writing 750 letters to individuals
in jail, celebrating individual Eucharist 35 times, and conducting 4 baptisms
and one funeral.
